Student organizations are a vital and important aspect of student life and growth as a computer scientist. By joining a student organization, you will build social and professional networks, and deepen your leadership, technical, and communication skills. Student organizations provide an opportunity to engage in fun activities and provide service to the department; your involvement and contributions to an organization should be highlighted on your resume.

Association for Computing Machinery

ACM Student Chapter at UTEP is a community of 160+ students interested in programming, problem-solving and engineering. We are passionate about organizing hackathons, datathons, CTF's and building an environment for everyone to succeed. We collaborate with many student organizations to help them grow and involve students into their events. If you are a CS student, or you are interested in learning more about software, we're here for you.
ACM-W Women in Computer Science

The purpose of ACM-W is to support, promote, and empower women in computer science. This is done through outreach projects where we educate young women and girls throughout our border city of El Paso Texas, about Computer Science and technology development, as well as through in-school programs, where we create a network of support for all women in Computer Science, Undergraduate, and Graduate, as well as where we educate all students about the importance of equal representation in the Computer Science field.
ARTECS

Providing students with resources, education, and hands-on experiences in fields such as game development, interactive media, digital art, and creative coding—bridging creativity with technology to unlock new opportunities. ARTECS explores the fusion of art and computer science through hands-on workshops, creative projects, and coding!
CodeCore

CodeCore aims to provide students with practical experience in strengthening computer science fundamentals through peer-to-peer learning, practice sessions on CS1, CS2, and CS3 concepts, and study jams, coding games, and review workshops. The club helps students master core coding concepts early, build confidence for upper-level courses, and create a collaborative learning environment. CodeCore focuses on developing skills in data structures, algorithms, programming languages like Java, Python, and C, and enhancing problem-solving and computational thinking abilities through engaging activities and community support.
Coding Interview Club

The CIC aims to provide students with practical experience on coding questions that they can expect in a technical interview. The club aims to improve students' problem solving skills through practice problems, mock interviews, technical workshops, and extracurricular presentations. The club also serves as a community where students can support each other and feel empowered to successfully interview and further benefit students' professional development.
CS² (Computer Science x Community Service)

Computer Science x Community Service (CS²) is an organization whose primary focus is to reach the underprivileged communities and schools within the city of El Paso, Texas. Founded on the conviction that anyone can do anything with the right resources; CS² aims to provide those resources to the future generations and encourage them to pursue a higher education.
Girls Who Code College Loop

Girls Who Code College Loops is a college community for women and non-binary students interested in tech and computer science that support one another in completing their degrees. What makes Girls Who Code special is that we believe that in order to change the world you need more than just your coding skills. College Loops members gain access to exclusive and/or early career readiness opportunities, such as meeting with industry professionals & corporate partners or participating in Girls Who Code workforce programs.
Google Developer Student Club

The Google Developer Student Club at UTEP (GDSC) is intended to provide dynamic training aimed at enhancing coding skills, problem-solving algorithms, and professional development skills to empower students and their communities. GDSC will host information sessions, hands-on workshops, and student-community collaborative projects centered around the latest in technology, all with the support of Google and Google Developers.

Passionate cybersecurity advocates at The University of Texas at El Paso, dedicated to bolstering our community's cyber defense. Web-App Development Club

The Web-App Development Club (WDC) at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) brings together students passionate about digital innovation for web and app development. Its mission is to foster a collaborative, creative environment where members can learn, experiment and grow as developers. The WDC offers workshops, encourages project-based learning, and promotes community engagement. Led by a dedicated team, the club ensures an inclusive, hands-on experience for students aspiring to make a positive impact through technology.
